Biografía:

Mercy Moyo nació el 27 de noviembre de 1980 en Zvishavane, Zimbabwehas. En su educación, Mercy obtuvo los grados más altos (A´s) en las calificaciones de todos sus cursos en la escuela secundaria Dzivarasekwa High 1 (entre 1994 y 1998) y posteriormente estudió en la Escuela de Arte y Diseño Peter Birch (Peter Birch School of Art and Design) y en los Estudios de Artes Visuales en la Galería Nacional de Zimbabue (National Gallery of Zimbabue Visual Art Studios). Después estudió en el ZIPAC (El Instituto de Fotógrafos de Zimbabue), y obtuvo un diploma en fotografía en 2010. Mercy ha exhibido su trabajo en la Galería Nacional de Arte en Zimbabue en numerosas ocasiones. Además, su trabajo ha sido incluido en exposiciones en la República Checa, Finlandia, Sudáfrica, y en los Estados Unidos de América. Mercy es la primera mujer artista en ganar el “Premio al Mérito Nacional de Arte” en obras de arte bidimensionales en Zimbabue, además ha recibido numerosas residencias.

Biography:

Mercy Moyo was born 27 November 1980 in Zvishavane, Zimbabwehas. In her education Mercy achieved A’s in her ‘A’ level qualification at secondary level (Dzivarasekwa High 1 between 1994-1998) and later she studied at the Peter Birch School of Art and Design and the National Gallery of Zimbabwe Visual Art Studios. She also studied with ZIPAC (Zimbabwe institute of photographers) and obtained a diploma in Photography in 2010. She exhibited at the National Gallery of Art, Zimbabwe many times. In addition, her work has been included in shows in the Czech Republic, Finland, South Africa, and the United States. She is the first woman artist to win the National Arts Merit Award for two-dimensional work in Zimbabwe and has received a number of residencies.
